Dan Priest

Dan Priest, was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1955.

He graduated from High School at St. Francis DeSales, in 1973. He attended Ohio State University in 1974 and 1975.

He decided to get into the golf business in 1975 and was hired as an Assistant Golf Pro at Ashtabula Country Club from 1975 through 1979. During the winter time he played in many mini tour events and after banging his head against the wall all those years he decided that pursuing the golf business was a better way to go.

He was an Assistant at Elyria Country Club in 1980 and 1981. In 1982 he was hired as the Head PGA Professional at The Country Club of Ashland. Dan served as the Head Golf Professional at Ashland for seven years and in 1989 was offered the position as Golf Professional at Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio. In the spring of 1994, he came back to the Country Club of Ashland and was rehired as the Golf Professional. Dan served as golf professional at Ashland from 1994 through 2013.

In the spring of 2014 -2016 he had an offer to take over and lease the business at North Central Golf Center. Dan has been a PGA Member since 1980 (44 years).

Dan is a five time NOPGA Tournament Winner.

He served many years as Co-Chairman of The Partner with Youth program at the Ashland YMCA.

He was Chairman for the NOPGA Christmas party for the Medina County Achievement Center for Physically and Mentally challenged students.

Dan has been involved in the Northern Ohio PGA Section for many years and served as a Board Member for 10 years and was Vice President of the Northern Ohio PGA for 3 years.

He was chosen by the Northern Ohio PGA members as Golf Professional of the Year in 1992. He made the Ohio Cup Team in 2008.

Dan has been married now for 42 years to his wife Cindy. They have 2 grown sons, Kevin is a dentist here in Ashland, Ohio and Kory is a nurse and surgery technician in St. Louis MO.

He currently helps with the Junior golf program at Brookside Golf Course and coaches the Ashland High School Boys Golf Team. He also works for the Ashland City Schools as a bus driver and teaches golf and give lessons at Brookside Golf Course.
